Board of Trustees Finance Committee
Minutes Wednesday, October 30, 2019
Location: South Burlington Public Library
In attendance: Diane Bugbee, Lee Freeman, Penne Tompkins
Also in attendance: Jennifer Murray, Library director
Members of the Public: N/A 4:30 p.m. Diane Bugbee calls the meeting to order. 4:31 p.m. There are no additions and deletions to the posted agenda.
4:33 p.m. Consent agenda. Penne Tompkins moved for approval of the minutes of the July 24th, 2019 Finance Committee Meeting. Lee Freeman seconded. --Motion passed. 4:36 p.m. Director’s report: Jennifer Murray reported on the FY 2019-2020 Budget. The likely South Burlington Public Library opening in the 180 Market Street building is scheduled for Fall of
2021 (in Financial Year 2022). Subscription services are desirable and should be built into the budget before moving into the new building. Maintenance and repair includes utilities. Repairing roof leaks are included in that line item. Future staffing increases will be needed to meet the public’s needs when the new library location opens. Proposed staff increases make up the majority of the 2020-2021 budget increase. The final number of positions will be approved by the city council. There were no public comments. Diane Bugbee moved that the Finance Committee present their support of this budget with
revisions discussed. Penne Tompkins seconded the motion. --Motion passed.
5:26 p.m. Diane Bugbee adjourned the meeting.
