Advocacy Committee
Thu. Sept. 8, 3:00 pm
1. Meeting was called to order at 3:10. Present: Mark Coel, Leora Dowling, Jennifer Murray.
MargaretAnn Cross arrived later.
2. Agenda accepted as posted.
3. Minutes were not kept at last Advocacy meeting. Jennifer explained that all meetings must post
minutes to be in line with the Open Meeting Laws.
4. Members brainstormed towards a single statement in support of upcoming vote in November.
Came up with following statement to present to Board: “Vote “yes” to take the first step on the
journey to cost-effectively create a lively City Center anchored by a new, state-of-the-art
library.”
5. Discussion of recent Other Paper editorials and need for Board response.
6. No public comments
7. Meeting adjourned at 4:00 pm.
Next meeting scheduled for Monday, 9/12 at noon.
