City Council Resolution Honoring the Retirement of Donna S Kinville
August 7, 2023
WHEREAS, Donna S. Kinville was appointed to serve as the South Burlington City Clerk on June 25, 2001;
and
WHEREAS, the voters of South Burlington continued to elect Donna eight times to serve in this role; and
WHEREAS, Donna successfully supported forty elections always faithfully adhering to the highest professional
and ethical standards in order to hold the trust of the community; and
WHEREAS, in 2021 the Vermont Municipal Clerks' and Treasurers' Association named Donna Kinville the
Vermont Town Clerk of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Donna's kindness and good humor are renowned statewide but also up close here in South
Burlington where we saw her offer top-notch customer service in her office, administer four and then five
polling locations, advise and enthusiastically answer endless questions about elections procedures, always with
a smile and a twinkle in her eye; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the City Council of South Burlington, do hereby proclaim
August 17, 2023 as Donna S. Kinville Day in the City of South Burlington and invite the community to join us
at a celebration of service at SB Nite Out that evening at 5:15 PM; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of South Burlington hereby constitutes the naming of the
City's official vault at 180 Market Street the Donna S. Kinville Municipal Vault as she was instrumental in the
design and upfitting of the modern resource for the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council wishes Donna and her family all the best as she
transitions to retirement and hopes she comes back to visit often.
