Cemetery Sextons October 16, 2019
The South Burlington Cemetery Sextants held a meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 8:00
a.m., at 575 Dorset St, 2nd floor.
MEMBERS PRESENT: P. Taylor, D. Kinville, T. Chittenden
1. Agenda Review.
No changes were made to the agenda
2. Instructions on exiting building in case of emergency:
Ms. Kinville provided emergency exiting instructions.
3. Comments & Questions from the public not related to Agenda items
No comments from the public.
4. Approve minutes from August 21, 2019
P. Taylor would like the draft report included in the last meeting to be removed from the minutes as
it was just a draft and has been revised. T. Chittenden then made the motion to accept the minutes
and was seconded by P. Taylor. Motion passed unanimously.
5. Review information from Catamount Subsurface Investigations
D. Kinville discussed that Catamount Subsurface has not yet begun their work of doing a sonar of the
2 cemeteries and will begin in October. P. Taylor mentioned that it was not too late for the work to
be complete as long as the ground is not frozen.
6. Council Report and Presentation Review, Updates and Discussion
T. Chittenden presented the latest draft of the report which is to go into the City Councilor’s packet
this week for the presentation at Monday’s city council meeting. After discussion, the report was
slightly modified and approved by the members for council distribution. T. Chittenden presented the
PowerPoint that he did based on the information in the report. Modifications were made to make it
in compliance with the changes in the report as well as adding photos showing some of the issues of
the cemetery such as fences, stones leaning or fallen over as well as those needing cleaning.
Discussion followed as to what slides each of the members would present.
7. Other business
T. Chittenden made a motion to elect D. Kinville as the chair of the sextons and was seconded by P.
Taylor. Motion passed unanimously.
8. Adjournment:
As there was no further business to come before the committee the meeting was adjourned by
common consent at 9:30 a.m.
