ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
South Burlington Library, University Mall
11/6/2019 In Attendance: Linda Darlington, Bonnie Finnigan, Lee Freeman, and Jennifer Murray Absent: Margaretann Cross 1. Meeting was called to order by Bonnie at 5:00 PM.
2. Additions or deletions to posted agenda: None
3. Approval of OCTOBER 02, 2019A Advocacy Committee Minutes: Linda motioned to approve the January minutes; Lee seconded. All were in favor: Motion passed. No changes or corrections
4.Role and planning of November 13, groundbreaking. It appears that there is no specific role for our committee at the ceremony in City Center celebration, other than attendance at the event if possible. The time for this is 11AM. The opportunity to remind the community of this even on social media has value. We may be asked in the future about the lack of immediate construction activity. This may need to be postponed due to weather limitations. We will need to consider our role with the library as the Census activities get under way. We will want the public to remember that the Census will begin and the library will be a locale for completing the Census. The library will have 2 laptops specific for the Census survey by our community members. Our role will be to remind community members as the time comes. As the construction begins, our job will be to generate excitement and feedback and provide positive responses to posting on the SBC Watch. We hope to have a video cam following the development and post whenever appropriate.
