April 11, 1978 City of South Burlington Zoning Board Adjustment City Hall South Burlington, Vt. 05401 Gentlemen, Robert and Jaye Gerlack of 2 Forest Street, South Burlington, are requesting a variance to Section 11.00 of the South Burlington zoning Regulations. This variance is requested to construct a two car garage with the dimensions 24 feet by 24 feet. Due to the narrowness of the lot, the end of the garage will come to within seven (7) feet of the side line. The size of the lot is at the total pruchase area. This variance, if authorized, will not alter the character of the neighborhood in that many of the houses in the neighborhood already have garages. Adjacent property development would not be impaired in that when completed the addition would not cross over any property lines. This garage would not be a detriment to the public welfare. The requested variance is the minimun variance that will afford relief to the problem in that the storage capacity of a smaller addition could not accommodate two presently owned automobiles and other assorted materials.
