MEETING MINUTES
20 May 2015

The Chamberlin Neighborhood-Airport Planning Committee held a regular meeting on
Wednesday, 20, May 2015, at 7:00 p.m., in the Large Conference Room, City Hall, 575 Dorset
Street.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Walden Rooney, Greg Severance, Linda Brakel, Marc Companion, Bill
Keogh, Carmine Sargent, George Maille, Kim Robison, Patrick Clemins, David Hartnett
ALSO PRESENT: Paul Conner, Director of Planning & Zoning; Cathyann LaRose, City Planner; Lee
Krohn, CCRPC Senior Planner; Bob Chamberlin, RSG; Charlie Baker, CCRPC Executive Director;
additional residents.
1. Call to Order; Changes to the Agenda
No changes were made to the agenda.
2. Public Comment Period on Items not on the Agenda
Steve Marriot, Mills Ave., asked the commission to include noise in consideration of planning in
the area.
3. Committee Organization – elect Chair
Mr. Maille moved to nominate Ms. Sargent as Chair; Ms. Robison seconded. There was a brief
discussion of roles of the chair. Mr. Krohn asked for any other nominations. Mr. Clemins
offered to serve in the role. There was then a discussion of whether a vice chair would be
necessary and there was consensus that the committee should have a vice chair to assist and fill
in for meetings should a chair not be present. Mr. Hartnett moved to nominate Mr. Clemins as
Vice-Chair. Ms. Sargent seconded the motion. Mr. Maille moved to nominate Mr. Hartnett as
Vice-Chair. Mr. Hartnett declined the offer and there was no second made. Mr. Rooney moved
to close all nominations and vote on the standing nominations. This was seconded by Mr.
Hartnett. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Clarify/review overall project flow, process, milestones
Mr. Chamberlin gave an overview of the project goals and objectives from the last meeting,
stating that they reflect the mission from City council and the contract. Members discussed the
project goals and asked related questions. There was a discussion of noise land and general
limitations, as well as FAA limitations.
Mr. Chamberlin then introduced the topics for the Community Forum to be held May 27th.
There was a brief discussion as to any limitations on the discussion; members agreed that was a

good idea to solicit all feedback and filter later under restraints. Members reminded each other
that the study area is larger than just acquisition land. There was a discussion of final products,
especially mapping and project scope, geography of project limitations. Members
recommended a suggestion box for people who cannot stay for the whole meeting time.
Members provided feedback on the potential list of questions to be provided to the public. Mr.
Chamberlin noted he would make modifications based on this feedback.
5. Consider questions, concerns, meeting schedule:
Members discussed next meeting dates. All agreed to meet next on Thursday (in order to make
the days of the week more compatible for some members) June 25th at the City offices.
6. Adjourn
With no other business, Mr. Hartnett motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motion was
seconded, approved and adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
