Open Space and Natural Areas Task Force

Present were Larry Kupferman, Sean Devine, Rebecca Poque e, Sophie Quest and Glenn Sproul. Lisa
Yankowski was absent. Also present were Be y Milizia, Maggie Leugers and Travis Ladd.
1. Agenda Review: no changes were made.
2. Minutes from the September 28 mee ng were approved as submi ed, except that the phrase “but not
a Management Plan” was deleted from item 4.
3. Maggie showed us the proposed Recrea on and Parks por on of the Capital Improvement Program
(CIP) to be submi ed to City Council this fall. We supported moving the an cipated expenditure of
funds for the first phase of developing the former Underwood property forward a few years.
4. We reviewed the spreadsheets for Ongoing Projects, Priority 1 Projects and Priority 2 Projects, and
made a few changes for improving clarity, without shi ing any projects in the priority order.
5. We reviewed and made sugges ons for the Power Point presenta on Maggie had started to prepare for
the November 7 presenta on of our recommenda ons to City Council.
6. We will have one more mee ng to fine-tune plans for the November 7 presenta on, from 9:30 AM to
11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 1.
