1. Introduc ons & personnel
Andrew is the park foreman for all parks. He works for Adam. Craig is one of the city arborist on Park Side of
department.
2. Summer report –
a. Parking – Exceeded revenue target by over $2000. Sandwich board sign direc ng parking seemed effec ve
as well as the inside park parking and the gate staffing.
b. Beach cleaning and upkeep seemed be er than in some years.
c. There was ac ve work on the trail, including improving water bars.
d. The small bike rack was removed. The loca on near the gate is a good one.
3. There was 1 water quality closure for blue-green algae. Further study showed blooms were not blue-green algae.
4. Signs – discussed some strategies
a. Include park rules such as no taking vegeta on
5. Parking issues.
a. New signs direct that there is no in-season parking on the street. The nearest road parking on is Central Aveis by Burton
b. Police issued ckets this year.
c. There were a lot of car break ins. Unknown source. Mainly smash and grab, o en outside the park. New
signs warn against leaving valuables in the car.
6. Police coverage – generally not a lot of police coverage. Parking cke ng increased compared to previous years.
i. Ques on for Maggie – Can the people working the booth call the police for parking viola on?
7. Dogs. Leashes are required by city ordinance. There are signs but difficult enforcement mechanism.
8. Will get new buoys to mark off the beach area
9. Policy changes - New signs will be put up sta ng that cliff jumping is not condoned. Signs will also state that
there is a rescue charge will be $800.
10. Off season usage / outside events
a. Big HS cross country meet. Lisa monitored incoming cars. Only handicapped and locals were allowed in.
Signs and sandwich boards were placed sta ng there is no visitor parking. The schools sent only 1 parking
volunteer. They need to do be er.

d. Looking at a Halloween events

11. ½ cent – Maggie, There is ballot measure for the 1 cent tax from open space to split and maintain open spaces
and natural areas. The city is also hoping to borrow against ½ cent split to get much needed funding up front
expedi ng ge ng maintenance and master plans completed quickly.
