Request for Variance at 69 Airport Parkway

1. The appellant would like to remodel the present structure at
69 Airport Parkway for the following reasons.
(1) Growth of family. Family will include 2 teenage daughter"
within 2 years.
(2) Cost to relocate in the community. The appellant has
researched the cost to relocate the family for the purpose
of upgrading the present standard of hourins. The c;
was found to be prohibitive within the Trojected futurc:
family income. In addition, the cost of remodeling to
present structure to include the benefits to be ga:s�u
by relocating came in at approximately 40.

(I) The lot is narrow. The present structure is 13 112

The ^recent structure was built prior to 'the current
zoning; regulations.
(4) T.� bEciroum addition is a minimum size. The outside
structure will be blended with existing lines of the
house. The neighboring lot has a garage adjacent to
trio requested addition and therefore no line of sigh;,
from the neighboring house will be lost.
(5) The addition does not extend beyond the current left
line of the house and therefore only a 1 1/2 foot
variance is requested.

Addition No. 2 (Front Foyer)
(1) The current front of the house at 69 Airport Park,..ay
is 24 feet (not including; overhang) from city proper: Ly.
This is typical of all houses in this section of
Airport Parkway.
(2) Due to (1) above any remodeling of even a slight nature
will not conform to the zoning regulation.
(3) The present structure was built prior to the current
zoning regulations.
(4) The front foyer is of minimal size. The roof line will
follow the present roof line. mince the entrance will
now be from the side instead of the front, the addition
will not extend as close to city property as the existing
walkway which is within 14 1/2 feet and the existing
fence which is within 14 feet. Both thE! walkway and the
fence will be removed as part of the remodeling. The
front foyer is of the same size as other existing front
door overhangs and closed in entranceways on the street.
The addition does not violate zoning regulations on the
right side of the house.
(5) The variance requested is 8 feet. This is the minimum
variance that will allow a small closed in entranceway
with stairs smaller than the existing stairs and a coat
closet.
