Pizza to replace an existing approximately 48 square foot, internally lit, freestanding sign with a new 32 square foot, internally lit, freestanding sign, 364 Dorset Street. On the 29'' day of June, 1999, the South Burlington Planning Commission approved the design review application of Donny's N.Y. Pizza under Section 24.20 of the South Burlington Zoning Regulations based on the following findings: 1. This project consists of replacing an existing approximately 48 square foot, internally lit, freestanding sign with a new 32 square foot, internally lit, freestanding sign. The color of the new sign will consist of a red panel with white lettering. The posts supporting the sign will be pressured treated wood and will be stained a driftwood grey color. It is the Planning Commission's opinion that the new sign is an improvement over the existing sign. The existing sign has a light background with dark lettering which does not comply with the ordinance. The new sign will comply with the ordinance. The new sign meets all of the design review criteria including design consistency, promotion of city center goals, compatibility of color and texture and construction of suitable materials. 2. The owner of record of this property is South Burlington Realty Co. DECISION AND CONDITIONS Based on the above Findings of Fact, the South Burlington Planning Commission approves the design review application of Donny's N.Y. Pizza to replace an existing approximately forty-eight (48) square foot, internally lit, free-standing sign with a new 32 square feet, internally lit, free- standing sign with the following stipulations: 1. This approval is for compliance with only the design review criteria contained in the South Burlington Sign Ordinance (i.e., section 4(a) - (d)). The decision of whether or not this application complies with all other provisions of the Sign Ordinance shall be made by the Code Officer. 2. Any future change to the wording on the sign may be approved by the Director of Planning & Zoning provided the Director determines the change to be in compliance with the approved sign design (i.e., white lettering, similar font, etc.). 3. The applicant shall obtain a sign permit from the Code Officer within six (6) months of this approval or this approval is null and void. 4. Any change to the sign design shall require approval of the Planning Commission.
