Committee members present: Don Cummings, Keith Epstein (Chair), Karen Mckenny (Scribe), Patty Tashiro,

Initial business
Meeting minutes for May 2016 and June 2016 were reviewed.
Sam Swanson moved that we approve the May meeting minutes, Linda McGinnis seconded, unanimously
approved.
Karen Mckenny moved that we approve the June meeting minutes, Linda McGinnis seconded, unanimously
approved.
Guest presentation: Kate Desrochers-VEIC
Kate presented a detailed look at the Vermont Home Energy Profile: Home labeling project. Promotional and
educational materials were also reviewed with feedback offered.
South Burlington Energy Prize Updates
Members shared key accomplishments, next steps, and requests for assistance as Keith scrolled through the pre-
meeting written project update summary.
Upcoming events and program updates:
· City Fest August 6th:--Don working with the Rotary and the city with planning. Shorted program this
year—4-7. Don looking for more tabling support that day.
· Sun Carnival with Sun Common and the Farmer’s Market. Linda, Patty, Don, and Karen tabling.
· SBEP information on an insert going out with tax bill.
· Cartoon contest winners: 2 Winners picked, Keith will notify winners and artist.
· Neighborhood project moving along, educational materials reviewed.
· Ad campaign continues with next ad to feature a “energy savings never goes out of style” theme.
Don moved that we authorize $750 for promotional materials for city fest. Keith seconded, unanimously
approved.
Don moved that we authorize $2500 for ad design and media placement. Keith seconded, unanimously
approved.
Don moved that we authorize $300 for social media ad boosting. Keith seconded, unanimously approved.
Don moved that we authorize $500 for neighborhood house parties. Keith seconded, unanimously approved.

The meeting adjourned at 8.50 p.m.
