DESIGN REVIEW APPLICATION #DR-08-14
FINDINGS OF FACT AND DECISION
Arnco Sign Co, hereafter referred to as the applicant, is requesting design review
approval for exterior modifications to a property within Design District 2 of the City
Center Design Review Overlay District. Pursuant to Section 11 of the South Burlington
Land Development Regulations, these changes shall be subject to design review by the
Design Review Committee (DRC) and the Development Review Board (DRB), 344
Dorset Street.
The Development Review Board held a public hearing on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
Jeremy Waycott represented the applicant.
Based on testimony provided at the above mentioned public hearing and the plans and
supporting materials contained in the document file for this application, the Development
Review Board finds, concludes, and decides the following:
FINDINGS OF FACT
The applicant is requesting design review approval for exterior modifications to a
property within Design District 2 of the City Center Design Review Overlay
District. Pursuant to Section 11 of the South Burlington Land Development
Regulations, these changes shall be subject to design review by the Design
Review Committee (DRC) and the Development Review Board (DRB), 344
Dorset Street.
2. The Design Review Committee was unable to review the plans and so staff has
deferred the application to the Development Review Board.
3. The owner of record of the subject property is Janet M. Desarno is the record
owner of the property (warranty deed in Volume 291, Page 285 of the city land
records). The property is identified as Tax Parcel 0570 00344 C.
4. The subject property is located in the Central District 2 Zoning District and the
Design District 2 of the City Center Design Review Overlay District.
5. The applicant submitted photos of the proposed alterations.
6. The applicant is proposing to change the color of the seven (7) existing awnings
above the windows. The existing fabric awnings are red and the new panaflex
awnings are proposed to be "tangerine" orange. The Board supports the
proposed changes. No logos, text, or other graphics shall be permitted on the
awnings.

DECISION
Motion by (- AA C'� 04WA , seconded by fAALC to
approve Design Review Application #DR-08-14 of Arnco Sign Co., subject to the
following conditions:
1. All previous approvals and stipulations which are not superseded by this
approval shall remain in effect.
2. This project shall be completed as shown on the plans submitted by the applicant
and on file in the South Burlington Department of Planning and Zoning.
