Holly reviewed of safety procedures
Approval of minutes from May 21, 2018 mee ng
● Paul suggested change to minutes, Holly edited
● Mike moved, Liz seconded and minutes were approved
5:05 to 5:55 pm
Use of open space and gap analysis: Cathyann LaRose, City Planner
● Positive discussion regarding the Open Space Matrix. Committee committed to spending
a few hours over the next 6 months to further develop out the matrix from the Recreation
& Parks perspective. Recreation & Parks Committee and Cathyann committed to
continued communication as this work moves forward. Discussion regarding potential
options for Payment in kind to be considered and how these funds would be used and
would they be in coordination with Open Space Fund.
● Discussion about Open space gap analysis plan specifically for city parks/land and the
need for a Park Management Plan. Great opportunity to combine this with a document
that outlines all city owned parks and details regarding each.

● Holly built a timeline and specific items that need to be addressed each month.

Director’s Report: Holly
● Bay Crest opening is on July 14th 10am to noon. All are encouraged to attend
● NRPA Open house is on July 21.
● Concerts in the park
● Green Mountain Brass Band performance was a success, estimated 100 people in
attendance.
● Camps started today!
● Red Rocks officially opened today

City Center Municipal Building discussion
● Committee reviewed a historic timeline regarding the addition of a Senior Center to City Center.
● City Council meeting on June 25th to include Recreations & Park Committee and Library
Committee to discuss in greater detail.
● Holly presented an overview of space needs for a Senior Center

Dog Park Discussion
● Reviewed Resolution from City Council establishing Dog Park Committee.
7:35 pm Linda moved for Adjournment, Mike seconded.
