Called to order at 5:10 p.m. 2. The minutes of the May 19th meeting were approved as written 3. Tonight is the Open Hearing on the recommendation from the Committee on Committees Task Force. Glenn will present our committee’s acceptance of the committee. We reviewed his memo of May 23 to Kevin Dorn. If the proposed structure for the committee doesn’t happen, we would like to have a clear Recreation and Leisure Arts Committee mandate for how we continue with the City’s other committees and with the recreation programs that Todd controls, and acknowledgement that there’s a need for recreation spaces, regardless of which committee oversees this. 4. Jennifer explained the recommendations from Recreation and Leisure Arts to the Form Based Code committee and Planning Commission which she’ll present tonight. The current draft includes conservation and natural areas, but not general recreation space and recreation space in developments. She compiled a list of previous documents that have requested these from the draft proposals of the Recreation and Leisure Arts committee, Open Space Committee, Draft of the Form Based Code and Comprehensive Plan. We approved Jennifer’s document, with the change that it is sent from the Recreation and Leisure Arts Committee, instead of the names of three members, and that the last page become the document’s first page. 5. Todd shared his Director’s Report. Some camps started this week, some staff training started, the new playground is in at Dorset Park, VYCC starts working at Wheeler Park on Monday for 2 weeks thanks to a grant, and Darla has returned to work. The Baycrest neighborhood is approaching the Larkin family regarding a neighborhood park and structures. It would be a public park, named after Larkin, maintained by the city, structures paid for by Larkin. An ADA audit of parks is ongoing, and the consulting group’s report later this month will itemize how our parks can be ADA approved. 6. The next meeting is July 21. 7. Barring emergencies, there will not be a meeting in August. 8. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Laura DeMaroney.
