MINUTES APRIL 21, 2014
Members Present: Glenn Sproul, Jennifer Kochman, Edie Robenstein, Laura DeMaroney, Linda Janes
Also Present: Todd Goodwin, Recreation Director, Kevin Dorn, City Manager
Special guest Kevin Dorn, City Manager, joined us to speak about the “Joint Council and staff committee
on committees” that is being considered.
1. Called to order at 5:03 pm
2. Minutes of the March 17 meeting were approved as written, with correction of typo in item 4.
3. Laura highlighted her presentation to the City Council on April 5 which focused on new members, our
by-law draft, and current projects. Todd assisted.
4. Jennifer reported that the Open Space Committee will soon be disbanded with the end of Interim
Zoning. The draft of that committee report includes items pertaining to Recreation and Leisure Arts.
Jennifer asked us to review her comments and suggestions to the Strategies/Recommendation List. She
will share our thoughts and changes at the Open Space Committee meeting with our endorsement.
5. Todd and Paul Connor discussed our request for standards of neighborhood parks in new
development. This item is tabled until further notice.
7. Todd started a playground structure audit last Friday, April 18. Inspections will be done in April and
May. Proposed repairs will be in June.
