MEMBERS PRESENT: Glenn Sproul, Jennifer Kochman, Liz Robitaille, Linda Jane, Laura DeMaroney
ALSO PRESENT: Todd Goodwin
1. Called to order at 5:00p.m.
2. Minutes of the Feb. 10th meeting were approved as written
Glenn explained that the library board staff wasn’t invited, as planned, because they are in the
process of reorganizing due to Louise Murphy’s retirement.
3. Todd hopes to become part of future developer’s initial meetings with the City so that 2-2+ acre
minimum City-owned neighborhood parks be included in original plans presented to the DRB. Items
to be included in each park will be a playground structure with swings and slides multi-use court with
equipment, picnic area with BBQ facilities, and an open area, all built by the developer, maintained
by the city.
Todd clarified the types of paths owned by the city; City, Community, Neighborhood, and Natural
Areas.
4. Brad Dousevicz discussed his proposed Rye Meadow development off Hinesburg Road, north of Fox
Run Lane, (Oak Creek), west of city owned Wheeler Natural area, south of proposed Swift Street
extension. The Planning, DRB, and Rec Path Committees have given initial approval of the proposal.
We discussed the neighborhood park (see item #3) of the 2.5 acre area designated as open area on
the plan, more than half is unuseable wetland. We asked for a structure appropriate for 3-12 year old
children, a picnic area and benches to be included.
Brad will contact Todd with this information.
5. The R & LA Committee” draft document will be discussed at the next meeting. We asked that the
draft include a statement that future developers indicate “active open space” as useable space, as
per # 3. Wetlands and unuseable land should not be included in the acreage figure.
6. We no longer had a quorum, so this item was also held until the next meeting.
7. Adjournment @6:25 p.m.
We toured the new rec space in the building before leaving.
Respectfully submitted,
Laura DeMaroney
