Garden Street Project – Williston Road Intersection Phase – Overview and discussion. I. Blanchard provided an overview of this portion of the project using a rendering of the planned geometric changes to the roadway/streetscape. The Committee reviewed the various changes and made several observations: · The wall is the nicest element of the area today. · A lot of people cross at Hinesburg Road because there is no other crossing for pedestrians along Williston Road in the vicinity, i.e. this is the only place the neighborhood can use due the lack of crosswalks generally on Williston Road. · The planned space by White Street is visible to many areas, and across the street from Als French Fries. · Commiee members had seen eye catching sculpture at other locaons; this is a gateway and deserves a bold piece. · Or a funny piece. · And/or energy generang piece. · Really really funny · It is a very urban area, maybe a something in juxtaposion and is very natural? · It would be good to smulate a Garden compeon. 4. Next Meeting The next meeting will be Monday, March 6, at 5:30 PM. 5. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:45.
