Review of minutes:
David asked a clarifying ques on about weed control in an environmentally friendly way-herbicide use
What/When city center mee ngs meet, ques oning an NRC group member a ending, thought is-so we are more aware
of what they are discussing. (minute adjustment)

Staff Report:
Dog Park
Dog Park up and func onal at Farrell Park. The next park will be placed at Jaycee Park (Patchen Rd)

- Thought of dog ameni es in addi onal SB parks instead of isolated ‘dog parks’
Underwood Property/Dogs
As Underwood is developed the ques on arises what do we do to help dog owners? Possible ques on arising if dogs are
discouraged from other parks. Theories are developing as to ideas which can be developed to allow dogs in the city to be
able to run around off leash.
Poten al concerns are, water, benches, fecal ma er, play structures, other concerns owners, dogs off leash & wildlife.
NRC can be a great asset to aid in these discussions.
Underwood Event
August 8th 5-7 p.m. parking on Nowland Farm Rd.
SEC group is developing a work plan for Underwood-looking at agricultural, passive recrea on, natural area possible
thoughts. Will be a presenta on at Underwood with sta ons providing possible ideas for the area & ge ng people to see
& ponder usage.
Open Space Signs
Signs at parks introducing how “Open Space Money” is being used.

Edlund Property
Sophie Mozowita alerted sale of land on corner of Spear & Swi that UVM owns, (Edlund Property) – they have
developers looking at it. 40 acres
