MEETING MINUTES for Regular Bi-Monthly Meeting
Present: Laurel Williams (Interim NRC/OSC Chair), Patrick Clemins (NRC/OSC Clerk), Russell
Agne (NRC/OSC Member), Jeff Dickson (NRC/OSC Member), Jim Duncan (NRC/OSC Member),

OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE
Meeting called to order at 6:23pm.
8/7/2013 and 8/21/2013 Minutes: Milizia moved to approve the 8/7/2013 minutes, Williams
seconded, and the motion passed. Williams moved to approve the 8/21/2013 minutes, Clemins
seconded, and the motion passed.
Open Space Outreach Update - Ice Cream Social: Weather was unseasonably warm, so turnout
was a little lower than expected, but about 12 people attended the event and discussed their
vision for open space in South Burlington with Open Space Committee members.
Open Space Work Update: Will discuss City Center specific objectives and strategies at next
meeting. Current drafts were distributed to the committee for review.
The committee discussed the appropriate size, location, and use of open space in the City
Center, using the draft City Center Form-Based zoning map as a guide. The conversation will be
continued at the next meeting.
Staff Report: The Form-Based Code Interim Zoning Committee and Planning Commission have
agreed that the full scope of the interim zoning work will not be complete by the original
February deadline. Thus, they will focus on form-based codes for the City Center and Planned
Unit Developments (PUDs).
Next Meeting: The next three regular meetings of the Natural Resources Committee / Open
Space Committee will be Wednesday, September 25th, October 2nd, and October 23rd at
6:15pm. Future meetings will be on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:15pm.
Meeting adjourned at 8:21pm.
