MEETING MINUTES for Regular Bi‐Monthly Meeting
Present: Betty Milizia (NRC Vice Chair), Patrick Clemins (NRC Clerk), Russell Agne (NRC
Member), Jeff Dickson (NRC Member), Larry Michaels (NRC Member), Cathyann LaRose (NRC
Staff Liaison ‐ SB City Planner), Sarah Dopp (SB Land Trust)
The meeting was called to order at 6:09pm.
Comments from the Public: Dopp noted that last week, The Other Paper erroneously printed
Helen Riehle’s “Counselor’s Corner” contribution from months ago, when the Open Space
Committee was still in the midst of their work.
7/9/2014 Minutes: Michaels moved to approve the 7/9/2014 minutes and Agne seconded. The
7/9/2014 minutes were approved unanimously.
City Center Form Based Codes Draft Comments: There was a brief discussion of the draft
memo and a few changes were suggested, including adding some clarification to the second
recommendation. Dickson moved to approve the memo to the Planning Commission re: Draft
Land Development Regulation Amendments – City Center Form Based Codes with revisions and
Agne seconded. The vote was unanimous.
Committee Structure Update: The City Council has continued to interview potential committee
members under the current structure, suggesting that the new committee structure has, for the
moment, been put on hold.
Committee Leadership: Dickson moved to elect Betty Milizia as Committee Chair for one year.
Michaels seconded and the vote was unanimous. Michaels moved to elect Patrick Clemins as
Committee Clerk for one year. Agne seconded and the vote was unanimous. Betty moved to
elect Larry Michaels as Committee Vice Chair for one year. Clemins seconded and the vote was
unanimous.
Current Project Review: Dopp asked for clarification of the current plan for implementation for
the Open Space Committee report. LaRose explained that the recommendations in the report
will be entered into the city staff spreadsheet containing other committee recommendations
and will be prioritized in the near future.
The Committee discussed other unfinished projects and decided to prioritize the following
efforts:
Wheeler Park Management Plan ‐ http://goo.gl/nZzFik; and
Good Ideas List – Clemins will circulate for discussion at the next meeting.
Next Meetings: The Natural Resources Committee normally meets on the first Wednesday of
each month.
The next meeting will be:
September 3rd, 6:00pm – Prioritize efforts, strategic planning.
Meeting adjourned at 7:23pm.
