James moved and Don seconded a moon to approve the May 4th meeng minutes. Approved unanimously. June 1st Meeng Notes: James moved and Don seconded a moon to approve the June 1st meeng notes. Approved unanimously with revisions suggested by Keith via Marcy. June 19th Meeng Minutes: James moved and Don seconded a moon to approve the June 16 Transportaon meeng minutes. Approved unanimously. Project updates: (see document emailed earlier for complete updates) CityFest: Don has reached out to partners for parcipaon and is waing to hear back from some. (EVT and VGS are a yes, GMP maybe). Suggeson to invite electric car dealers—Don will follow up. Keith suggested we ask EVT about NESTs for a giveaway, he will follow up. Pay has offered to donate light bulbs and offer shower heads. Don would like to update the brochure to include transportaon ps. Keith has offered to follow up with several other partners. Don has 4 people signed up to help on the day but would like one more. If you can table that day please let Don know. Don moved for an authorizaon of up to $500 for CityFest materials to include posters and an updated brochure. Fred seconded. Approved unanimously Solar Consorum Funds Linda reviewed our Solar Consorum funds to date. More funds are ancipated from another partner. To date there are $5,570 in the fund. Linda to follow up with SBHS to set up a group of students interested in coming up with a solar-related project for the funds. A plaque with our solar partners’ names and thanks should be part of the project—with added emphasis given to Suncommon for its significant number of installaons. Linda will explore monetary or electrical-line- digging support from GMP and monetary support from Kevin Dorn to help fund a potenal EV charger on school grounds. She will also ask the school district to follow the city’s recent efforts by seng up a revolving energy-efficiency project fund using solar-related savings. Consolidaon of Waste Collecon Service in SB iniave: Discussed Tom Chienden’s request to the commiee to endorse and support this iniave. Karen moved to support Marcy draing a leer of general support to City Council for exploring this iniave. Pay seconded. Approved unanimously. Climate Change Acon: Fred presented his suggested text for a proposal to City Council regarding two issues. 1: The City of South Burlington joining the VT Climate Pledge Coalion along with other municipalies and groups across the state. 2: The development of a climate acon plan by the City of South Burlington. A resoluon was draed regarding these issues. James moved to send the resoluon draed for City Council to consider and approve joining the VT Climate Pledge Coalion and to consider the development of a Climate Acon Plan. Linda seconded. Unanimously approved. Transportaon and Net Zero project consideraon: Keith and Don presented an overview of potenal projects for both of these avenues of interest. Keith discussed organizing a Net Zero conference; James suggested meeng one on one with developers. Linda had several detailed projects including electric car purchasing and infrastructure, and park and ride areas. She will send along a bulleted outline of each for consideraon. Rosanne also discussed working on the lack of ridership of city school buses and on student/parent driving to school. If you are interested in being a champion on a project or working on one of them please let Keith know for Net Zero and Don know for transportaon. Orientaon Guide for new members: Karen and Marcy draed orientaon materials for the commiee. Keith, Ilona, James and Marcy had several edits that Marcy will make. These materials will be used to orient new members to the commiee moving forward. Change to meeng mes: The Doodle poll indicated that most members preferred starng the meeng at 6:30 and running for 2 hours. Marcy will communicate the change to Ilona for the city website. James moved that we change our meeng me to 6:30-8:30. Keith seconded. Unanimously approved. Opening meeng law and planning commission leer agenda items tabled unl the next meeng.
