The Committee convened to consider goals and priorities to guide its work during the upcoming year. Meeting Location: South Burlington City Hall, second floor conference room City Staff: Ilona Blanchard Members of the Public: non e Start Time: 7 p.m. Meeting Minutes – February 7 Meeting: Those present decided to postpone consideration of the draft minutes for the February 7 meeting until the next regular meeting, on March 7. Work Planning: The Committee took no formal action at this meeting to establish goals and priorities for its work. The following briefly describes how the Committee considered potential goals and the additional steps the Committee intends to take. The Committee proposed a list of goals to guide its work during the next year using a “brain storming” method. The Committee decided to develop from this list a shorter list of three- year goals that it would use to guide its work during the next year. The Committee discussed a plan to revisit the three- year goals annually, updating them and extending them for the next three- year interval. After developing an extensive list of candidate goals the Committee members present cast votes for the goals he or she wants the Committee to adopt to guide its work during the next year. The Committee plans to provide Peter Tousley, who participated by phone but did not cast votes, and Marc Companion, who was absent, an opportunity to cast votes for the goals they want the Committee to adopt. After Ilona Blanchard assembles the results of this exercise, the Committee intends to review the outcome. Each member was offered the opportunity to cast multiple votes for goals despite agreement by at least two members that the list did not include all that needed to be considered. The purpose was not to decide priorities as an outcome of the voting exercise but to enable the members to communicate what each thought should be treated as candidate goals in a subsequent round of goal assessment. At the next regular meeting, on March 7, the Committee plans to consider what additional steps it may take to decide what goals should guide its work during the next year.. Meeting Adjourned at 9:10 PM Next meeting: Thursday, March 7, at 7 p.m. at City Hall 575 Dorset Street
