MEMBERS PRESENT: P. Taylor, D. Kinville, T. Chienden 1. Agenda Review. No changes were made to the agenda 2. Instructions on exiting building in case of emergency: Mr. Taylor provided emergency exing instrucons. 3. Comments & Questions from the public not related to Agenda items No comments from the public. 4. General Discussion on sexton duties, review of data and possible next step. D. Kinville showed what information had been collected thus far in terms of maps, minutes from late 1960’s and a book of lot sales with the person’s name, date of death and headstone number. The 3 members agreed that the first step is to create an inventory of the information that we have so that we know what lots are open and how to find someone whom is buried in the cemeteries. P. Taylor and T. Chittenden are interested in green burials and once the inventory is done the commission would like to investigate where a green burial section of a cemetery could be located. P. Taylor walked the Shelburne Rd cemetery and was distressed by the condition of some of the grave markers. There is a big hedge that separates the graves from Shelburne Rd which could contribute to their condition. The agreed upon next step is to call a meeting and invite Bill Cimonetti, a prior sexton, to update us on the history of the 2 cemeteries and Patrick Healy, from the VT Cemetery Association, to help us understand our role and to offer guidance on how to proceed. T. Chittenden is going to contact his friend on the Burlington Cemetery Commission to see if they want to attend the meeting mentioned above or to put us on their next scheduled meeting to see what information they might have on how we should proceed and what our roles are. 5. Other Business: No other business was brought before the Board. 6. Adjournment: As there was no further business to come before the Commission, the meeng was adjourned bycommon consent at 6:30 p.m.
