Library card sign–up month (September) a. Updates There are no real updates other than the focus will be on Market Street neighbors and keeping a narrow focus to keep on target. Holly has written to property managers and will email them again to obtain a response about whether tabling can occur inside or outside the buildings. Jennifer will look into whether we can in fact even table outside of buildings on Market Street vis a vis zoning. What about Goose Park? Holly and Rebecca previously met with Sue Meyer at the library. We have outreached to Al’s for donation for library card sign-ups, Rebecca will follow-up. We will have a raffle for all those who sign-up for new library cards as part of the target. TBD on prize. Info packet went to new residents of target buildings. Includes library information, Library of Things brochure. Should we be leveraging the ALA’s library card sign-up materials in September with this outreach? The theme is based on the Transformers movie series. With the desire to table the last two weeks of September, Staceymwill share a bcc communication to all Trustees to see if they are interested in being involved in tabling for library card sign-ups. We will need to borrow a table from the library. Look into also having Parks and Rec also present when we table. We will put together a raffle basket for all new library card sign-up patrons to have an entry. We can spend up to $100 from the Library gift account for items for the raffle basket and also seek donations. Rebecca will do the shopping and outreach. Stacey will make the basket “pretty.” The theme will likely basket will likely carry a “welcome to South Burlington” theme with local items. Holly will create a simple raffle form which includes a note about “how did you hear about us” and ability to opt out of the newsletter. In terms of data, we can measure # of new sign-ups and measure qualitative comments and mood to gauge “success.” b. Brainstorming / goal-setting / assignments? See above. 7.
