Re: City Updates
Since the Committee’s meeting on September 11, 2024, I have the following updates to report on
behalf of City staff:
• StreetScan will be starting the Citywide sidewalk and path condition assessment on
October 10th, weather permitting.
• The final Active Transportation Plan public meeting will be Tuesday, October 22nd at 6pm
(food out at 5:30pm) in the Senior Center.
• No Right on Red blank-out sign has arrived and will be installed on southbound Dorset
Street at Swift Street. It will turn on when the crosswalk signal is activated.
• Contract Plans and Bid Documents are in development for:
o Garden Street West – shared use path from Dorset Street to the path east of the
bridge (near Healthy Living)
o City Center Park Boardwalk
o Bike/Ped Bridge
o Market Street/Hinesburg Road Traffic Signal
• The draft report was received for the Allen Road Shared Use Path study and has been
reviewed. The final version will be shared with the Committee and posted on the DPW
website when it is received.
• It’s Walktober! The Maryland Department of Planning has a number of webinars (née
Walkinars) throughout the month:
