Instructions on exiting building in case of emergency and review of technology options–Margery Vagt, Library Board of Trustees Member (5:15 – 5:30 p.m.) 2. Agenda Review: Additions, deletions or changes in order of agenda items (5:30—5:39 p.m.) Jennifer Murray added a discussion of patron age and recording studio usage. The committee will add the discussion to the agenda for September. 3. Comments and questions from the public not related to the agenda (5:39 pm) None 4. Approval of June 17, 2024, minutes ACTION (5:40 – 5:41 p.m.) Margery Vagt forwarded the motion to approve the minutes and Lauren Hatch seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. 5. Approval of Reconsideration of Programs to our Collection Development Policy ACTION (5:41—6:10 p.m.) Anne Lalonde made several edits to the rough draft proposed by Margery Vagt. The committee discussed the selection criteria: popular interest, reputation of presenter, diversity of opinion, and programs that re�lect the values of SBPL—including equity, diversity, respect, and sustainability. Jennifer Murray said it is not necessary to address who is hosting the program in the reconsideration policy. The committee will consider the time frame allowed for reconsideration of a program. Approval of the addition to the “Computer Use Policy” ACTION (6:10 p.m.) This policy has already been approved by the entire Library Board of Trustees. 7. Discussion of policy addressing the use of the lobby area (6:11—6:25 p.m.) Although the lobby area is space that belongs to the city, the library is often asked by patrons to use the area. The city clerks have found patrons can be disruptive. The committee may suggest a policy which allows only displays. Margery will draft a brief policy to discuss for next month’s agenda. 8.
