Total rooftop area = 12, 650 SF
Minimum solar-ready zone = 5, 060 SF
40% X 12,650 SF = 5,060 SF
Total solar-ready zone available = 5, 221 SF
(solar-ready zone areas shown subject to
adjustment with final design of mechanical
equipment)
The solar-ready zone shall include a collateral
dead load of not less than 5 psf in gravity and
lateral design calculations.
Interconnection pathways shall be provided for
routing of conduit or piping from the solar-
ready zone to the electrical service panel or
service hot water system.
The main electrical service panel shall have a
reserved space to allow installation of a dual
pole circuit breaker for future solar electric
installation and labeled ''FOR FUTURE SOLAR
ELECTRIC''. The reserved space shall be
positioned at the end of the panel that is
opposite from panel supply conductor
connection.
A permanent certificate, indicating the solar-
ready zone and other requirements, shall be
posted near the electric distribution panel,
water heater, or other conspicuous location.
