FINAL MINUTES
South Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Communications Committee
The South Burlington Public Library Board of Trustees Communications Committee held a regular
meeting Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., in the Library Board Room, and by Zoom participation.
Members: Rebecca Stazi, Chair; Theresa Eirmann, Holly Painter, Stacey Pape, Penne Tompkins
Library staff: Jennifer Murray
Guest: Andy Brumbaugh, Communications & Outreach Coordinator, City of South Burlington

1. The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m.
2. Library exits were reviewed: The Chair provided instructions on emergency exit from the
building.
3. Additions and deletions to the posted agenda: none.
4. Comments and questions from the public not related to items on the agenda: none
5. Approval of meeting minutes of May 16, 2024
Upon a motion made by Stacey P. and seconded by Holly P., the Trustees voted unanimously to
accept the May 16, 2024 meeting minutes.
6. Communications Projects/Upcoming Amplification Opportunities
a. Special Guest: Andy Brumbaugh, Communications & Outreach Coordinator, City of
South Burlington
i. Introduction and overview of his role, responsibilities, and plans.
ii. Introduction of committee and overview of function and plans.
iii. Potential communications synergies
1. Upcoming events and opportunities
a. Working together on outreach to new residents
i. Welcome kit
ii. Events?
b. Burlington Pride Parade – September 8, 2024
c. SB Night Outs – July 11, July 17, August 1
2. Marketing and communications intern
a. St. Mike’s student intern to be shared across city departments

i. Touch a Truck Event – June 15
1. ~20 families stopped by library booth
2. For next year: table and summer reading sign-up
ii. Summer Reading Program (kickoff June 15)
1. Summer reading bags going fast
2. Author event underattended, possibly due to timing conflict with Touch
a Truck
iii. Juneteenth programming
1. Stacey will remind trustees to attend June 19 event
iv. SB Night Out tabling
1. Trustees and Foundation directors will table on 7/11, 7/18, and 8/1
c. JULY
i. Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival
1. July 10 – Children’s event
2. July 17 – Adult’s event
7. Communications Planning and Updates
a. Library card sign-up month (September)
