Meeting Minutes
for the Monday, May 20, 2019 meeting and site visit
West Stormwater Pond, Market Street
In Attendance: Trice Stratmann (Chair), Jean-Sebastien Chaulot (Vice-Chair), Penne Tompkins
Also in Attendance: Ilona Blanchard (Staff), Craig Plumb, Patrick Olstad, Tyler Vendituoli
1. Call to order
Trice Stratmann called the meeting to order at 10:50 AM. No changes were made to the agenda.
2. Minutes - No minutes were presented for review.
3. Public Comments - No public comments were made.
4. Site Visit – Market Street West Pond
Ilona Blanchard gave a brief overview of the status of the project, the lay of the land, and the status
what is visible, versus what would be visible at completion. Patrick Olstad asked the committee to
review the art sites independently of the landscaping, trees, bushes and perennial plantings which
would be adjusted in relation to the art pieces. Craig Plumb asked that the boulders not be moved, and
everyone concurred.
The committee reviewed the placement of each of the pieces of art. Each was reviewed individually by
the committee. The first site looked at was the mother and goslings. This was moved to the grassier
portion of the site (across the path) and spaced out at the recommendation of Tyler Vendituoli to better
reflect the size of the pieces and the particular design which includes the gosling with wings outspread
trying to catch up with the others and further behind.
The strolling goose was moved around the point, further from the mother goose. The standing wing out
stretched goose was moved across the path so that the front would be visible from the plaza and also
the adjacent path.
The caller goose was moved a few feet back from the path to give any vehicles on the path more room,
and oriented outwards more towards the south east. The foraging goose was moved north so that the
background within the pond is now the plantings in the corner of the pond and not the overflow
structure, with the neck parallel with the edge of the path and pointed more in a northwest orientation.
5. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 AM.
