The average pre-construction grade is about 5' to the deck and 8' to the eaves, for a total of 13'.
The quote is now at approximately $75,000, bringing the fee to $388.
We'll be away for a long weekend but will pay for the permit next week.
I do have a question about the timing of the permit. If for instance, the start date was in 30 days,
should we wait 15 days before posting? Or if the start date isn't for 60 days should we wait before
paying for the permit? Is there a window of time that the permit is in effect?

Acknowledging receipt of the application. One addition piece of information we need is the height of the new
structure-we measure height from the average pre-construction grade to the mid-point of the eaves.
The fee for the permit is $363. There are different ways the payment can be made – see this link for info.
Note that paying online you will incur a 2.6% fee, or if you do e-check, it’s a flat $2 fee. If you do choose the
online option, pick Planning & Zoning as the payment type and where it asks for a permit number, put TBD. If
you choose to pay via check, you can bring it in person or drop in the drop box, or send via USPS.

1) Property line between 42 Floral and 40 Floral.
Rear stake at 40 Floral, 42 Floral & 44 Floral Rear stake to Front stake between 40 and 42 Floral Drive
2) Distance from 42 Floral foundation to property line. Approx 16’ (allowing for variation in rope tension).
Note: Screened-in Porch will extend beyond the end of the house by 2’, leaving 14’ to the property line.
3) Rear property line between 42 Floral and 44 Floral. Stake at street to stake at 40-42-44 Floral.
4) Distance from 42 Floral foundation to rear property line.
Note: Rolled tape measure is in tenth’s of a foot (versus inches). Screened-in porch will extend 13’ beyond end
of house leaving 32’ to rear property line.
5) Rear elevation pictures; existing rear deck.
- Current deck is 14’ wide x 12’ long.
- The “indent” at the corner of the house is 7’ x 14’.
- The current height from the deck to the ground is 5’7”.
6) Drawing/sketch of screened-in porch with dimensions and distance to property lines –
- The new screened-in porch will be 16’ wide x 20’ long with a gable roof.
- It will extend 2’ beyond the side of the house, approximately 14’ from the side property line.
- It will extend 13’ beyond the back of the house, approximately 32’ from the rear property line.
- Additional side platform approx. 4' x 13' for access to exit stairs and for gas grill.
