As I was finalizing the permit approval for this application, I realized that the plans don’t appear to specify whether the blue background for the wall sign will be opaque or translucent. The illustration makes it look like the background will be opaque, but the detail sheet appears to show that the whole wall sign will be made out of one material. City regulations require that only the letters & logo are permitted to be illuminated – backgrounds must be opaque and cannot be internally illuminated. Please confirm whether the proposed background will be opaque or translucent – if it is translucent, please be aware that is not approvable, and the sign will need to be revised prior to approval of this permit.
