Considering the testimony at hearings and the majority opposition prior to the jughandle construction regarding congestion at this intersection, how can we propose or consider expanding this as a focal point for traffic? 2. The Chittenden Bank has recently opened an office at a logical location in a neighboring shopping center. Couldn;t their foresight have included expansion at that area where considerable attention was paid to all phases of efficient and sensible land use? 3. When something happens at the Chittenden that they want people to know about,,their publicity department has no difficulty getting word and pictures in the papers (first woman director). What happened here? 4. At this point "dollar -arrogance" would most aptly describe the quiet, slick way that the people at the Chittenden have chosen to aggravate a deteriorating South Burlington -Burlington artery. 5. I travel to and from work through this intersection at least 2 times per day plus frequent trips to UVM and would suggest the proposed office building be built elsewhere. South Burlington, Vermont 05401 Williston Road South Burlington, Vermont Gentlemen: The Chittenden Trust Company wishes to appeal the decision of the Zoning Administrator, Richard Ward, of September 7, 1972 regarding the above project. As discussed with Mr. Ward, it is believed that the site plan of the proposed project should be reconsidered for approval based on (1) its avoidance of a curb break requirement into Williston Road and its traffic congestion, (2) its more satisfactory setting esthetically with landscaping and lawn between the building and the street in lieu of a parking lot which would be necessary if no modification to the zoning requirement is approved, and (3) the building's avoidance of a possible public sewer right of way in lieu of encroaching on this right of way. Enclosed is our check for $30.00 as required for an appeal consideration. Very truly yours, FREEMAN.FRENCH FR MAN William W. Freeman, FAIA Partner WWF/gs encl.
