DPW is planning to repair the failed stringers and replacing the decking so that it can be re-opened. This should provide 3-5 years of use while we plan for a full replacement. A timeline for the repairs has not been finalized but this is a high priority. • Striping is expected to begin at the end of May/early June. We are planning to use durable polyurea paint which is visible for ~3 years, rather than the 1 year (or less) of waterborne paint. • Crosswalk striping is likely to be done using a mix of waterborne (DPW crew) and durable polyurea (contractor) and will take place primarily in June and July. We are working with a contractor to get an estimate for polyurea crosswalks, prioritizing locations with 0.25 to 0.5 mile radii of schools. • The second Active Transportation Plan (ATP) public meeting will be on June 6th at the City Hall auditorium. Details and outreach materials to come in the next 1-2 weeks. • Some members of the ATP team will be attending the Bike Rodeo to gather more input as we begin to put together and prioritize recommendations. • Shared use path maintenance planning is in full swing. Adam and I are reviewing the most recent spreadsheet which was provided to determine what to complete. The bridge 180 MARKET STREET, SOUTH BURLINGTON, VERMONT | (802) 846-4107 | WWW.SOUTHBURLINGTONVT.GOV repairs will likely use some of this budget line item, so fewer maintenance items will be able to be completed in FY24. • The Red Rocks trail and parking lot improvements project is being updated and now includes pedestrian accommodations to get from Queen City Park Road, through the parking lot, and to the park entrance.
