HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Cemetery Sextons - 01/09/2023South Burlington Cemetery Sexton Meeting Minutes January 9, 2023 Donna called the meeting of the South Burlington Cemetery Sextons to order at 6:04 PM. The meeting was held at City Hall with the following members present (Donna Kinville, Christopher Thrane and Maureen O’Brien). I. Emergency Evacuation Procedures - So stated II. Review of Agenda– No changes III. Comments and Questions from the Public – There were none. IV. Approve minutes of November 21, 2022 – Maureen made a motion to approve the minutes of November 21, 2022, Chris seconded and all voted in favor. V. Prepare for February 6th City Council Meeting – We will work on a power-point presentation that highlights 1) our requested fee increase, and 2) Sexton role vs. Commission role – should Sextons become Commissioners – what responsibilities go along with the new role? Maureen made a motion that we ask the City Council to change the current Sexton committee to the Cemetery Commission. All voted in favor. We will meet at 12 Noon on February 1, 2023 via Zoom to discuss the presentation. VI. Update on Eldredge Mapping – Maureen has using FindaGrave.com to map GPS coordinates of headstones in conjunction with lists and maps that were available from City Hall. She will continue as weather permits. VII. City Encampment Policy– See City Council minutes – we all felt that this was a good policy that protects the cemeteries. VIII. Signs for Cemeteries - Donna will check with Colin McNeil regarding the language to use on signs for both cemeteries “No overnight parking/camping per City regulations…..” IX. New Business – Chris has been working with Jarlath O’Neil-Dunne, Director, Spatial Analysis Laboratory at UVM regarding LiDAR mapping of the cemeteries. He will ask him to attend our next meeting that is scheduled to be held in person on March 13, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Maureen made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Donna and approved by all.
