These changes include modifications to the Holiday Inn renovation and the addition of a third, mixed-use building on the Project parcel which have resulted in changes to the wastewater design flows for the Project, as summarized below. On behalf of the landowner, Champlain School Apartment Partnership, VHB is requesting allocation in the amount of 18,840 GPD for the Holiday Inn building, 11,936 GPD for the Mixed-Use building, there are no changes proposed for the previously permitted Hampton Inn building. Wastewater Demand The newly proposed wastewater design flows for the proposed renovation of the existing Holiday Inn building and the Multi-Use Building are calculated below, followed by a table summarizing the previously permitted flows and proposed flows: Table 1 Proposed Wastewater Design Flow Calculations* Holiday Inn Use Quantity Unit GPD/Unit Wastewater Design Flow (GPD) Hotels -For each use 318 Sleeping Space 50 15,900 -Meals served only to guests 318 Meal per Sleeping Space 5 1,590 -On premise laundry 3 Machine 450 1,350 Total 18,840 *Based on the State Environmental Protection Rules, Chapter 1, Subchapter 8, Table 8-3 Public Works Director/City Engineer Ref: 57913.01 August 27, 2021 Page 2 Table 2 Proposed Wastewater Design Flow Calculations* Mixed-Use Building Use Quantity Unit GPD/Unit Wastewater Design Flow (GPD) Residential Use -Studio/One Bedroom Units** 55 Living Unit 140 7,700 -Two Bedroom Units 19 Living Unit 210 3,990 Store 6,149 Per 100 SF 4 5,320 Total 11,936 *Based on the State Environmental Protection Rules, Chapter 1, Subchapter 8, Table 8-1 and Table 8-3 **Based on design flow of 70 gallons per day per person at the max. residential occupancy proposed for each living unit Table 3 Project Wastewater Design Flow Summary Building Previously Permitted Flow (GPD) Change (GPD) Proposed Flow (GPD) Holiday Inn 21,491 -2,651 18,840 Hampton Inn 22,709 0 22,709 Mixed-Use 0 +11,916 11,936 Total 44,200 +9,285 53,485 The previously permitted wastewater demand for this parcel based on tabulated-unitized flows from proposed uses is 44,200 GPD. The proposed wastewater demands for this parcel are 18,840 GPD for the Holiday Inn building, 22,709 GPD for the Hampton Inn building, and 11,936 GPD for the Mixed-Use building for a total combined demand of 53,845 GPD. This represents an increase of 9,285 GPD. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
