Which is likely why they adjusted the drive without permission. I’ve made the below screen-shot for the Board’s review. Maybe it’ll be helpful for your review as well? Thanks! 2 Marla Keene, PE Development Review Planner City of South Burlington (802) 846-4106 From: Marla Keene Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2023 9:22 AM To: Tom DiPietro <tdipietro@southburlingtonvt.gov>; Erica Quallen <equallen@southburlingtonvt.gov>; Marisa Rorabaugh <MRorabaugh@southburlingtonvt.gov>; Ed Spooner <espooner@southburlingtonvt.gov>; Terry Francis <tfrancis@southburlingtonvt.gov> Subject: SP-24-001 154 Davinci Drive - technical review Hi Team, We have received an aŌer-the-fact site plan applicaƟon to amend some aspects of the Beta site at Davinci Drive. The changes consist of three things: 1. They’ve removed three trees by the entrance at Williston Road that the Board specifically required them to retain, including a 30” and a 36” maple. Craig already provided feedback that the proposed replacements are OK from a tree health perspecƟve, but we conƟnue to be preƩy cheezed at them about this. 2. They’ve decided they don’t want to plant trees between their manufacturing building and the exisƟng hangar at 240 Valley Road. The excuses they’ve provided are preƩy weak in my opinion, staƟng that the hangar is being taken over by the high school (unclear if it’s South Burlington or Burlington) for a technical program. Since there is more than 60-Ō between the buildings, I don’t see why that precludes planƟngs, given that the width is 3 greater than some road rights-of-way. There are standards that pertain to transiƟons between buildings, buffering, and screening, that we will ask the Board to consider. 3. They have modified the driveway to 355 Valley Road. I’ve aƩached the “old” version to this email. The requested driveway changes have already been constructed, but I don’t have any concerns telling them they have to change it if the feedback from DPW or FD is that it is not acceptable as configured. This staff report will be published on 12/27. Please provide your comments by Friday 12/22 for incorporaƟon into the report. DraŌ project descripƟon: Site Plan applicaƟon #SP-24-002 of BETA Technologies, Inc. to amend a previously approved master plan consisƟng of a planned unit development of consisƟng of a 344,000 sf manufacturing and office building, a 37,800 sf office and retail building, a 15,600 commercial building, and a 85,000 sf flight instrucƟon and airport use building on 40.43 acres. The amendment consists of aŌer-the-fact approval to modify the approved landscaping adjacent to the manufacturing and office building, provide replacement for improperly removed vegetaƟon along Williston Road, and modify the driveway configuraƟon for the exisƟng building at 355 Valley Road, 154 Davinci Drive.
