Hello Marla,
Our meeting with ECI was very encouraging. Our discussing moving the ECI second entrance further north
would be in the best interest for traffic on Berard drive.
At the current south entrance our concerns in keeping trucks in their lane keeping with a combo of wider entrance
and reduced speed and enforcing one way entrance only, would still be dependent on compliance.
Our experience of signage effectiveness at this site includes a large dump truck exiting Ignoring two large orange
barrels closing the south entrance usage. Signage will not work.
Though our parking lot egress gives our exiting students a safe line of site, others driving on Berard Dr. don’t share
this.
A further north second egress to replace the existing south entrance for ECI would not require signage compliance
to work. But address the safe line of site.
Yes, creating another entrance would open up more view into the site directly across from our second lot but we feel it
is in the best interest for all vehicles using Berard Dr.
The new entrance could require clearing no larger then the southern discontinued entrance .
Which may grow back over time.
That you , Mary and David Clifton
and signagewere not the possible

Hi Jesse,
Thanks for sending along the revised plan.
While we certainly can’t stop you from coming to the meeting, my recommendation to the Board would
be to continue the meeting to more thoroughly review this proposal. We appreciate your proactiveness
2
in getting this site plan sorted out, but unfortunately the earliest date I can offer you is November 21 (2
meetings from now).
Meanwhile, could you send over more information?
1. What is the grading? It doesn’t appear you can retain existing grade.
2. What is the width of the tree clearing zone?
3. Please provide a revised turning movement plan
4. Please answer the three questions posed in the 10/17 memo for the new entrance
5. Is this proposed to be an entrance and exit, or entrance only?
Let me know if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Marla Keene, PE

Hi Marla,
We met with the Clifton's on site this morning to review the proposed improvements to the ex.
access drive on Berard Drive.
While a dump truck was able to turn into the site without crossing the centerline of the road,
we ultimately decided we would install a new access drive +/-170' further north as shown on
the attached draft Sketch Plan.
Given this, do you think we should postpone tomorrow's DRB meeting so that the board will
have a chance to review these proposed changes?
Feel free to call with any questions.
Thanks,

Applicants,
Here is the link to DRB packet for Tuesday 10/17/2023. This is a general link you can use going
forward. Development Review Board Agenda (sbvt-records.info)
Please review the information included in the packet prior to the hearing. Packets are available in
advance of the scheduled hearing date to allow Board members to review the application materials
and Staff comments. Please use this time to prepare your verbal responses to the Board regarding
Staff comments. During the meeting, please refer to packet page numbers if there is something you
wish to be shown on the screen.
The Board will receive testimony at the hearing, and where new information is provided in response to
outstanding issues, will typically continue the meeting to a future date to allow Staff and Board to fully
review the new information and ask questions of the applicant. New or supplemental materials will
not be provided to the Board before the hearing. If you’d like to provide an exhibit to supplement your
in person testimony, you must submit it to me by email no later than noon on the day of the
hearing. Once outstanding issues are fully reviewed and satisfied, the hearing will be closed on the
date to which it has been continued and the Board will issue their decision within 45 days as required
by State law. The Board will not vote on whether to approve or deny a project in a public session.
The meeting will be held in person with a digital option. Remote login information is in the agenda.
