The master plan consists of placing approximately 74 acres into permanent conservation, conveying approximately 1 acre to abutters, and constructing 124 additional homes in buildings ranging from single family to twelve units on 28.25 acres, 1195 Shelburne Road. The Board reviewed the application on October 3, 2023 and continued the hearing to complete review of the Staff report and to conduct a site visit. For this, the November 2, 2023 meeting, the public hearing will consist of a formal site visit. At the end of the Site Visit, the Board will continue the hearing to November 7th. When: Thursday, November 2, 2023, 12:00 – 1:00 pm Where: Staff requests the Board and interested persons park at Farrell Distributing, 5 Holmes Road. The site visit will occur by carpool. Meeting attendees should be prepared to join a carpool to locations on and around the subject property. The site visit will return to Farrell Distributing. Format: The site visit will be a part of the public hearing, with the narrowly defined objective of gathering information via field observation. The visit will be limited to one hour. Because the rules of public hearings apply and it cannot be guaranteed that everyone will hear everything, it is critical that the site visit remain solely one of fact gathering and observation, and arguments not be presented. At 12:00, Staff will provide an introduction. The attached map shows the proposed driving path with stops for observation. Board members, the applicant, and the public will each be given an opportunity to add an additional stopping point if desired. The group will then proceed on the site visit by carpool, stopping in the pre-appointed locations to make observations. Participants should anticipate walking at each stop. Recommendations or testimony pertaining to observations may be presented at the next Board hearing. SCALE: 1" = 600' 0 300'1200'600' ALLENWOOD PROPERTY NOVEMBER 2, 2023 SITE VISIT
