Public Art Committee Draft Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 19, 2023 Attendees: Penne Tompkins (Chair), John Killacky, Sebastian Ryder, Ilona Blanchard (staff), Sophia Babbitt, Jean Sebastian Chaulot , and Amanda Holland, Tim Barritt (City Council liaison) Public: None Attended Members absent: Michele Bailey Minutes 1. Meeting was called to order at 5:33 pm. 2. Penne reviewed the emergency procedures, although others attended online. 3. John Killacky was identified as minutes taker. 4. The meeting agenda was approved. John moved. Jean seconded. Agenda was approved. 5. Meeting minutes from 9/19/2023 approved. John moved. Jean seconded. 6. Chair Report: Penne attended City Council meeting the previous evening and conveyed
that Committee ARPA request short-listed for consideration. If moved forward, John and
Penne will flesh out RFP for review at Committee’s next meeting. 7. Committee discussed Clay/Lo possible sculpture commission and agreed that Jaycee Park seemed ideal placement. Ilona will contact artists for a site visit for their approval before submitting to City Council for their approval. 8. Website: Amanda agreed to work with Ilona to continue updating committee pages. 9. As discussed last meeting, Ilona shared the City’s Inclusion statement with John, Penne and Jessica for gallery consideration. 10. Discussions continued to arrange a luncheon for City Department Heads to clarify roll of Public Art Committee input of development projects. 11. No October meeting, next meeting confirmed for Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30pm. 12. Meeting was adjourned at 6:36 pm.
