Approach to Specialty Concrete Paving Prepared by: T.J. Boyle Associates
Areas designated as specialty concrete will utilize a combination of surface treatments to
elevate the appearance and denote hierarchy of outdoor gathering spaces. We anticipate
utilizing a combination of surface treatments, color, and textures. Unique treatments will
identify different spaces. Final design will be coordinated with structural conditions, such as the
pouring sequence and methods for the suspended pocket plaza above the vehicular garage
entrances. The following provides examples of decorative concrete treatments that would be
utilized for the project, including imprinted or stamped concrete, color treatments, including
integral color, color hardeners, stain, and/or broadcast aggregate, and texture treatments, such
as sands, slag, granite, quartz, or limestone aggregates.
