Please use proper judgment and caution when opening attachments, clicking links, or responding to this email. Hi Marty, Thank you for your email and questions. The sign is 14 years old and the last 7 years has been indoors. I believe that it is made of sheet metal used for commercial exterior doors and windows. It has been treated with a sealant to prevent corrosion. And the scissors are of pressure treated wood with and the same metal backing as the black background. The letters are made of the same metal material. The letter color was painted with an exterior weather paint and should be the same color. There should only be three colors total. Up close the letters look the same color. It may be the lighting and different fonts make it appear different. If you feel the colors are different we will repaint them before installing. Black background, silver scissors and grey letters. We will be having our own exterior door entrance and the landlord has pulled a permit for this and has been approved to have it installed. -Glenn Brown Owner Chop Shop Hair Design 210 College Street Burlington, VT 05401 www.chopshophairdesign.com (802) 660-4343 On May 26, 2023, at 11:57, Marty Gillies <mgillies@southburlingtonvt.gov> wrote: Hi Glenn, Thank you for submitting a Sign Permit application to our office! The property at 100 Dorset Street has a Master Sign permit that limits wall signs for tenants with a direct exterior entrance to three colors, and includes a provision that requires signs to be constructed of “weather-resistant and high quality” materials. It appears that the two font colors and the scissor colors are all slightly different, so – in addition to the back panel color – that would put you at four colors; one over the max. Please confirm the number of colors proposed to be included in this sign – if more than three, please edit the sign plans and re-submit. 2 Additionally, please reply to this email to confirm whether your suite has a direct exterior entrance and include a list of the materials proposed to be used in the construction of this sign. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to discuss further.
