Thank you for submitting a Permanent Sign application to install a free-standing sign on Elm Street at
the Spear Meadows development.
The South Burlington Sign Ordinance permits only one free-standing sign per entrance to a
property/development – as such, this proposed free-standing sign will have to replace any other free-
standing signs that may exist in the vicinity of the Elm Street/Spear Street intersection (e.g. “coming
soon” signs and the like).
Please confirm that the proposed free-standing sign will be the only sign displayed referencing or
promoting the Spear Meadows development in the vicinity of the Elm & Spear intersection.
Once our department receives that confirmation, we can issue approval for this proposed free-standing
sign.
