Re: 1233F Shelburne Road – Retrofitting Existing Building for Childcare Facility
Dear Paul,
Attached are applications for the above referenced project at 1233F Shelburne Road. This is an existing
building which has been used for years as commercial retail space, most notably for “Sports Style” a
clothing store, which has closed. Most of the work proposed will take place within the existing structure,
the Project proposes to demo the existing interior layout and redesign the space for the proposed use.
The project will need to apply for and receive a State Wastewater System and Potable Water Supply
Permit. This is due to the increase in expected flows for the new use. Two of the applications attached
are for water and wastewater allocation. The proposed project will need an allocation of 1,001 GPD
which is greater than the existing ±270 GPD, both values were generated using rule-based calculations.
The existing building is served by a 6” water and fire service and a 4” PVC sewer service. Both services
should be more than capable of handling the increased use/flow.
Project will also install an exterior playground. The playground will not increase the sites coverage, the
playground will be constructed to be pervious. We expect the disturbance to construct the playground
shall not exceed 5,000 s.f.
Project will also have to amend the existing umbrella Act 250 Permit, #4C0395. The project will also get
a State of Vermont Department of Public Safety - Division of Fire Safety Permit (State building permit).
No other State of Federal Permits are needed for the proposed project. Thank you for your time
