This property is approved for single family home use. The issuance of this permit does not constitute authorization for an accessory residential unit (ADU). 2. The second kitchen shall not be constructed as to establish separate living quarters for a household with direct access to the unit from the outside of the building or through a common hall. 3. When the staff person assigned to your permit works on it he/she may reach out with additional questions. The fee for this permit is $188.00. This link outlines the different ways the payment can be made. If you choose the online option please pick Planning & Zoning as the payment type. Where it asks for a permit #, just put TBD. Please see attached permit form and corresponding attachment drawing for the renovation project. I was unable to add much detail to the form due to space allotted but basically we are looking to remodel our walk-out basement (same footprint, already finished basement) and replace the wood paneling walls with drywall, upgrade the tile with new flooring and add a kitchen. The cost of all remodeling should be around $35,000 total. While we will have the capacity to have a separate cooking area with a second kitchen in the house, we are not intending to change to a multi-family residence (still just us/one family living here). I am planning long-term for convenience of more cooking space and my teenage daughter staying with us when she goes to college. 2 Please let me know if you have any questions!
