SBWD Technical Review Comments SP-22-060, Market St Lot B.

I have provided the following comments in greater detail directly on the Civil Plans for this project.
1. Record Drawings prepared by a VT licensed Professional Engineer shall be provided to the South
Burlington Water Department in pdf. and Auto-CAD format. Drawings shall include ties to all gate
valves and curb stops to sub-meter accuracy.

2. Hydrant on island must be set away from any planting to provide access.
3. Fire hydrant on island will be considered private and subject to all requirements stated within the South
Burlington Water Ordinance.
4. Tree on Garden Street side near access road must be relocated or removed altogether to provide access
to fire hydrant.
5. Tap for Building B1:
a. Remove stub from existing 8” gate valve. Install cap with Foster Adapters to gate valve. Install
pre-cast thrust block.
6. Tap existing 12” water main for new 6” service to Buidling B1. Install a separate 2” tap for domestic
service at least 5’ away from FS tap on water main.
7. Proposed 6” FS line to Building 1 jeopardizes the integrity of the 12” water main. Remove this design.

8. Can foundation wall be penetrated for FS and domestic water services to avoid going under and up
through the slabs?

9. Detail-Building B3:If gas line will not be used, can it be removed at the gas main?
10. Detail-Building B3: tap for water line must be no less than 5’ away from existing gas main.
11. Detail-Building B1: See comments on Sheet 4.
12. Detail Building B2: Since a domestic tap is proposed on the FS line, then a second FS gate valve must
be installed downstream of the domestic water service tap.
