HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Cemetery Sextons - 06/01/2022South Burlington Cemetery Sexton Meeting Minutes June 1, 2022 Donna called the meeting of the South Burlington Cemetery Sextons to order at 6:04 PM. The meeting was held via Zoom with all members present (Donna Kinville, Peter Taylor, Christopher Thrane and Maureen O’Brien). I. Emergency Evacuation Procedures - n/a II. Review of Agenda– No changes. III. Comments and Questions from the Public – There were none. IV. Approve minutes of 27 Apr 2022 – Peter made a motion to approve the minutes of April 27, 2022, Maureen seconded and all voted in favor. V. Planning for July 9, 2022 Shelburne Road Cleaning– a. The board chose Monday, June 27th at 3:30 pm as the prep day for the cemetery i. There are 24 broken or fallen stones that need repair ii. Maureen will provide scrap lumber and Peter the pry bars iii. Donna will contact City Council and the Other Paper to let them know of this pre-planning event b. The board reviewed the VOCA check list and decided the following: i. Peter will determine amount of stone/gravel needed and let Donna know so she can ask the Street Department for the stone/gravel ii. Donna will ask the City if we can borrow wheelbarrows iii. Volunteers will provide shovels and/or pry bars iv. Maureen will supply scrap lumber v. Maureen will ask VOCA what type of epoxy is needed vi. Maureen will reach out to the local D2 retailer to determine the best way to purchase and Donna will ask the Street Dept for a water supply vii. n/a c. Maureen will contact Dunkin Donuts to see if they will donate coffee and donuts that morning. Donna will provide canopies. d. Peter made a motion to reimburse VOCA members for their mileage, Chris seconded and all voted in favor. O’Brien Brothers of South Burlington will be making a donation to the South Burlington Cemetery Fund and should be recognized for the donation. VI. Review of City Council/Cemetery Commissioners presentation and feedback a. Paul Conner, Director of Planning and Zoning for the City, told Donna that an easement may be possible from Fayette Road into the Shelburne Road cemetery. b. Donna heard positive feedback from most of the City Councilors. VII. New Business n/a VIII. Old Business a. Peter reported that Council chairperson, Helen reported that the airport told her they would replace the Eldredge fencing this summer. Peter will stay on top of this issue. b. Donna will contact the City Manager to schedule a date for the Council to discuss the proposed fee increase. c. Our next meeting is scheduled for 3:30 pm on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Shelburne Road Cemetery. Maureen made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Peter and approved by all.
