Those tree species will all tolerate wet soils however, they shouldn’t be planted on a site that is wet continually.

Hi Craig, this project is back on the Board’s agenda next week (my packet will publish tomorrow). I’m just noticing
they’ve got maples, oaks, and spruce proposed in the wetland (see attached, west of the driveway). Our regulations are
silent on whether one can plant in a wetland, but even if it is allowed, I question whether these are good choices given
the wetland soil conditions. Any thoughts on a) whether they should be allowed to plant in the wetland (its ok if you
don’t have an opinion on that one) and b) whether these are good species choices if they are allowed to plant there?

Hi Marla,
I’d prefer to see fewer maples in the plan as they are over planted in South Burlington, but other than that the plan
looks fine.
