HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 11/06/2006CITY COUNCIL 6 November 2006 The South Burlington City Council held a special meeting on Thursday, November 6 2006, at 7:00 pm., in the Conference Room, City Hall, 575 Dorset St. Members Present:; C. Smith, Vice Chair, S. Magowan. M. Boucher, D. O'Rourke Also Present: C. Hafter, City Manager; and D. Gravelin, Assistant City Manager Acting Chair Councilor Smith called the meeting to order. 1. No comments from the public. 2. Announcements & City Manager's Report: City Manager Hafter reported on the following: · A Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for November 30 at 7:00 pm at City Hall · On November 15, there will be an information meeting at the South Burlington High School about the East Avenue Loop -- an electric line upgrade planned by VELCO, between 6 and 9 pm. 3. Continued discussion and questions regarding proposed Charter Amendments on November 7, 2006 ballot. There was no further discussion on this matter. 4. Consideration of appointment of voting delegate and alternate to National League of Cities Annual Business meeting. On motion by S. Magowan, seconded by D. O'Rourke, the Council voted to appoint Chairman Condos the voting delegate at the annual business meeting for the City at the National League of Cities 2006 Congress of Cities. City Manager Hafter was appointed the alternate voting delegate. 5. Review the agenda for the Development Review Board meeting being held on November 7, 2006. Council reviewed the agenda as presented with no additional comment. 6. Review and Approve minutes from special City Council meeting held October 6, 2006. On motion by S. Magowan, seconded by M. Boucher, the minutes of October 6, 2006 special meeting were approved as written. 7. Review and Approve minutes from special City Council meeting held October 16, 2006. On motion by S. Magowan, seconded by M. Boucher, the minutes of October 16, 2006 regular meeting were approved as written. 8. Sign Disbursement Orders: Disbursement Orders were signed. 9. Consider Executive Session to discuss litigation. Upon motion by M. Boucher, and seconded by S. Magowan, the Council voted to enter executive session to discuss litigation and to return to regular session only for the purpose of adjournment. 10.
