Thanks for checking-in early with VTrans.
The daycare proposal looks good to me. My minor comments would be that 12-feet is a little narrow for a one-way
commercial entrance. Typically, these are 18-24 feet wide…so, if you can go at 18-feet wide (30-feet in from travel lane),
then transition down to 12-feet that’d work fine. Gate post two (2) “Do Not Enter” signs at the parking lot end and add a
couple white arrow pavement markings along the one-way aisle in addition to the “One-Way” sign you’ve placed. The
sidewalk will need to be constructed across the new drive as an 8-inch-thick concrete one.

Hope all is well. I know you helped us out on the last project so I was reaching back out to ask
about a new project in the same location. Homesteak Daycare is looking to purchase the lot north
of the existing building and create a much needed infant care facility on site. The existing property
is currently used by a commercial stone engraver. We are looking to shift the curb cut further north
and make it a one way into the project site, please see the existing and proposed site plans.
We are in the planning phases with the City of South Burlington and need Notice of Intent from
VTRANS for the planning commission. We intend to get a curb cut permit later for the design once
the City has had their chance to make any revisions. Please let me know what you think, if there is
anything more you need, or if there is someone else I should be in contact with. Thank you for the
